"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light." - Helen Keller
"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand." - Henri Nouwen
Friendship is a mysterious thing in and of itself. Sometimes it seems that the magic we find in friendship become twisted by selfish expectations about others and the way things ought to be. Even at a very young age, friendship takes on many dimensions and presents us with all sorts of challenges.
I really appreciate the quotes from our authors today. No matter what form it takes or what duration or depth, we should be eternally grateful for the friendship we have found, and do find. Likewise we should realize that even the little things we do for friendship sake, whether or not they are returned in kind, have tremendous meaning in this world.
Take a moment and expand your own definition of friendship and then look at your life again. I think you might find that there is a lot more to be grateful for!
